Schiaparelli has a way of making you feel special. In a world where ready-to-wear increasingly borders on demi-couture, Daniel Roseberry strikes a perfect balance, delivering a Spring/Summer collection filled with padding, gravity-defying constructions, unconventional materials, and an abundance of shimmer and dance in the dark.

The show opened with tailoring and fitted skirts featuring exposed padding: the cushions that traditionally build volume were transformed into decoration. Curvatures played a central role, with visible cut-outs, pencil skirts, and absences turned into polka-dot prints. This interplay of voids exalted the female form, portraying a woman both assured and artistic.

Schiaparelli would not be itself without homage, nor without the eternal inspiration of Salvador Dalí’s surrealism. This season, it came through in accessories like sculptural hats and bias-cut dresses with “liquid” finishes—an echo of the painter’s iconic melting clocks.

The palette remained neutral, as the collection’s focus lay in its rips and alterations. In terms of textiles, Roseberry explored mesh in multiple expressions: metal, crystal, and muslin. The vision was clear: the new ready-to-wear exalts naturalness, celebrates it with love, and transforms it into beauty.

With Dancer in the Dark, the collection submerged us in a ballroom moment touched by surrealism. Two key looks stood out: a black gown hand-painted with white anatomical details, and another creating the illusion of skin with thousands of miniature makeup brushes. Always sculptural, always Schiaparelli.
