THE PAST, PRESENT, AND FUTURE OF GUCCI: CONTINUUM FALL/WINTER 25

They say no one understands the essence of a brand better than those behind the scenes, present from conception to execution. This morning in Milan, Gucci unveiled its Fall-Winter 2025 collection, "Continuum," designed by the brand’s creative team. A tribute to craftsmanship, deeply rooted in its rich cultural heritage and the evolution of style that has shaped Gucci over the decades.
Following Sabato De Sarno’s departure, and in the midst of an internal struggle that has seen the house oscillate between contrasting creative identities, the obvious question arose: What happens when you feel lost? And the answer is even simpler: You return to your origins. This collection is a declaration of Gucci’s DNA, a proposal that celebrates the brand’s pure essence and the legacy of its founder, Guccio Gucci, while also paying homage to other key figures in its history, such as Patrizia Reggiani. Built on a foundation of confidence, rich textures, and a vibrant color palette of greens, grays, mauves, and browns, the collection embraces both tradition and reinvention.
Inspired by the Italian concept of "sprezzatura", that effortless elegance, the collection walked the runway over Gucci’s historic interlocking logo. The looks flowed seamlessly between masculine and feminine elements, featuring tailored menswear silhouettes reinterpreted for womenswear, and contrasts between structure and fluidity. One of the show’s standout moments was the celebration of the iconic Horsebit, which marks its 70th anniversary and was reimagined in handbags, jewelry, and footwear.
They say "the devil is in the details," and Gucci proved it. The show was accompanied by an original soundtrack composed by Oscar-winner Justin Hurwitz, creating an immersive, cinematic experience that transported attendees. To close the show, the entire design team took to the stage in a collective gesture of gratitude, reinforcing the spirit of collaboration that defines this new era.
While Gucci’s future remains uncertain, one thing is undeniable: what’s coming next for the house promises to be extraordinary.
