This Monday, Milan’s historic fairgrounds hosted Zegna’s Fall/Winter 2025-26 menswear collection, designed by Alessandro Sartori. For this season, the artistic director paid homage to the excellence and versatility of wool, transforming the fabric into garments that seamlessly blend classic and modern styles—perfectly catering to the diverse needs of the contemporary man’s wardrobe.

Sartori’s inspiration is clear, boldly reflected in the collection’s name: Vellus Aureum, a nod to The Argonautica by Apollonius of Rhodes. With this, Alessandro invites us to embark on a quest for the Golden Fleece—or, in Zegna’s case, the pursuit of the extraordinary. This pursuit manifests through a timeless elegance intertwined with casual elements to create an irresistibly appealing aesthetic.

The collection’s color palette draws heavily from autumnal hues inspired by Australia’s lush landscapes. It spans luxurious fabrics like cashmere, corduroy, and more, reimagined as Oxford trousers, voluminous cardigans, English-style coats, double-breasted suits, and high-waisted pants. Signature pieces of the brand, alongside new additions, graced the runway, showcasing the functional approach that has defined Sartori’s work since 2016.

“In this collection, pieces are chosen with ease and combined spontaneously, telling a story of generations united under the banner of Italian style. The man I envision has explored a wardrobe where garments have been collected over decades for their emotional and material value. By working with washed wools and Vellus Aureum, we’ve been able to transfer lived experiences into the garments,” Alessandro Sartori shared.

As is tradition for Zegna, sustainability remains at the forefront of their mission. The brand has committed to ensuring 100% traceability of the Vellus Aureum fibers used in their creations by the end of 2025—a goal we fully trust they will achieve.
