DISEASE: GAGA'S LONG-AWAITED TRANSFORMATION

Lady Gaga

The music industry has changed, shorter playback times, more virality, and a path of fleeting successes. While it's true that this virality felt like a disease to lovers of 00s and 10s pop music, someone has come to cure it: Lady Gaga.

Yesterday, specifically on October 24th at 10 pm, Lady Gaga presented us with 'Disease,' the lead single from her new musical production, currently known as LG7; on this occasion, she takes us into a dark universe filled with industrial pop rhythms and soft basses that highlight Gaga's vocal power and her mastery in the domain of pop music.

In recent years, we've seen a comfortable and happy Gaga starring in award ceremonies, contrasting films, and soundtracks with power ballads and a recent hit alongside Bruno Mars. What else could she teach us that we haven't seen? The answer was always within our reach: we wanted her to return to the root of her essence, the one that catapulted her to fame and made her an icon of our generation, and the result is bold, defiant, and disruptive of current music.

On this occasion, Gaga joins Andrew Watt, known for working with Lana Del Rey, Camila Cabello, and Post Malone, and Cirkut, who worked with Britney Spears, Kesha, and the global hit 'Seven' by Jungkook, to write, along with her fiancé Michael Polanski, about curing a world that is on the verge of dying.

'Disease' feels like a pause in time that you can't stop listening to and serves as a great forecast of what's to come now that (fingers crossed) there's no global pandemic to stop her. With visuals photographed by Jasmine Safaeian and wearing the viral Maison Margiela outfit, Gaga transforms pain once again into art and makes us believe that the future of music will always be an uncertain and monstrously beautiful path with her.
