Few studios command the art of corsetry quite like Ashi Studio. With every runway presentation, the house showcases its technical arsenal, merging it with historical references that invite us to dream—and to desire wearing its creations. The Beginnings served as a ritual-like closing presentation for Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2026.

Inspired by the Victorian era, each gown was constructed around corsetry techniques rooted in the 18th century: cinched waists, emphasized hips and peplums, along with bell-shaped silhouettes, accentuated an ultra-feminine form. The body was divided into symmetrical layers, contrasted by a diverse use of materials such as tulle and feathers.

To avoid repetition in embroidery and ornamentation, Victorian motifs were replaced with hair. Lightweight fabrics were treated with wax and softly diffused edges, giving the garments an ethereal, insect-like quality reminiscent of moth coloration.

The Beginnings spared no technical ambition and proposed a new way of addressing moisture and rigidity in draped gowns. Through layered fabrics—including plastic—the trompe l’oeil silhouette emerged with striking precision. The result was a refined balance between the historical, the romantic, and the macabre, as each dress appeared to carry a story that grew more compelling with every model’s passage.

Ashi Studio integrates performativity into the garment without relying on scripted theatrical moments.
