This Paris Men's Fashion Week had us on the edge of our seats, waiting for the debut of a particular creative. Actor, rapper, and now designer, Jaden Smith arrived as a breath of fresh air at Christian Louboutin, showcasing the full power of his creativity with a Fall/Winter 2026-27 collection inspired by culture, history, and, of course, the man who founded the maison where he is now a crucial piece.

Jaden's first series of pieces was not presented with a spectacular display of fanfare; the artist chose to reveal his vision for Christian Louboutin through an exhibition that, drawing inspiration from the 19th century and combining it with Smith's young irreverence and vision, blended past and present and gave us a glimpse of the future.

Taking Louboutin's signature red as a starting point, Jaden crafted a series of pieces that pay homage to working men from different eras: "stonecutters, scribes, doctors. This [collection is] inspired by the lost eras of time and made by hands born of the stars, forged under immense pressure deep in cosmic space," the creative director said in a statement.

Divided into various rooms, the exhibition begins with an essay on the origins of cinema and moves toward the Trapman corner, where this silhouette is combined with hip-hop culture, a crucial part of Smith's inspiration: “Hip-hop culture is at the center of my design philosophy, in creating formal wear for the men of the future.”

The Corteo is another entry point to this new stage of the brand: the classic businessman in contrast to a musical subculture; in this new stage, we find a concern for encompassing man in all his spheres and facets, the formal and the rebellious. The penny loafer also gets a makeover, whether in its most well-known form, its slingback version, or as a sandal.

Of course, technical innovation is not left behind; under the acronym TCT I (Tactical), Jaden reimagines the waterproof tactical jacket as a shoe, thus entering the futuristic era of his time-framed narrative.

The exhibit moves toward an audiovisual installation where, true to his history, Jaden displays, on vintage televisions, a series of key moments in humanity, as well as more everyday situations that lead us to reflect on the important in the trivial and the trivial in the important.

Further on, the creative director explores his passion for photography, exhibiting captured images developed in different media; a display of works on columns references The Virgin Weeping Over a Broken Column and, continuing with the symbolism, Jaden and Christian's world is crowned by the Angel sculpture, a representation of "mutual respect, admiration, and the pleasure of creating together." In this way, the rapper builds the foundations of his universe: one in which art and footwear, utility and beauty, converse closely, without friction, to create the essential.

Jaden Smith's vision for the maison of the red sole can now be explored through an avant-première capsule that arrived in stores on January 22, preceding the Fall/Winter 2026 delivery, available in June.
