AN ODE TO ITS HISTORY: DIOR SPRING 2026

Jonathan Anderson

Jonathan Anderson has wasted no time since being appointed as Christian Dior’s new creative director. After delving into the maison’s vast history, he offered an early glimpse of his womenswear vision by dressing Anya Taylor-Joy. From that moment, it became clear that the Spring/Summer 2026 Womenswear show would draw on the past while keeping its gaze firmly on the future.

Following a rebranding of the Dior logo, Anderson not only reimagines the traditional feminine silhouette—as only the maison can—through paniers and utilitarian pieces, but also creates looks that converse with his most recent menswear collection. He does not shy away from nods to past creative directors such as John Galliano, while reviving emblems of the past to sign a new beginning.

The presentation stood out for its balance between experimentation and simplicity. It placed androgyny in tailoring alongside the traditional Dior woman reframed for 2026. As always, the devil was in the details: floral bags and shoes, and loafers adorned with a golden emblem that revealed a glimpse of skin through the “o” of the new logo.

Among the highlights were dresses constructed from petals with micro-embellishments, internal paniers that propose a renewed silhouette for the modern woman, and a color palette that spanned from white, black, and gray to pink, olive, mint, and orange. Dior SS26 feels like an act of gratitude and admiration for those who built its legacy.

Jonathan Anderson allowed the brand itself to be the only narrative present. Now all eyes are on what comes next for Dior, and how his appointment will steer the course of one of fashion’s most iconic houses.
