Alaïa's mission has always been to express the femininity of its models' bodies in a sophisticated and elegant way. With the arrival of director Pieter Mulier at this Paris Fashion Week Fall 2025, we see these aspects in experimental silhouettes, resulting in one of the brand's most outstanding collections in recent years.

A technique commonly used in puffer jackets is padding. Lately, we see it more in oversize finishes, but on this occasion, Alaïa used it on the neck contours, hoop skirts, and back, enhancing the silhouette and enriching the models' features. Strangely, these pronounced sections still concentrate the clarity and simplicity of each natural body shape.

Another highlight is the fluidity in pleated fabrics. With a striking irregular overlaying in the right places (just below the chest, mid-stomach, at the knees, and at ground level) on crop tops, the brand's mastery of the female body stands out.

What is most surprising about this collection? That in the luxury label, there was no room for risks, until today. The use of knitwear is almost imperceptible, but we still know it's there. These textiles give it a more cultural and approachable aspect to the viewer, a luxurious taste that doesn't feel unattainable.

Alaïa enters its most experimental stage and begins to distinguish itself from other firms that only integrate variations of their identity in each presentation. Today, it's about representing and proposing, while identity anchors our feet to the root, and Pieter is doing it perfectly.
