On Sunday, the most important personalities in music gathered for the 67th Annual Grammy Awards. We were able to see artists like Charli XCX wearing pieces from Haute Couture Fashion Week, as well as Chapell Roan or Lady Gaga, who opted for archival pieces. Whatever the choice, the styling with which they wear them is what attracts the most attention, and, on this occasion, the jellyfish cut stole the spotlight on the red carpet.
The jellyfish cut, known in Japan as hime, is a layered style whose definition is found from the cheeks to the chin, forming a bob that simulates the body of a jellyfish, as it usually has a final cut down to the waist. Undoubtedly, it is an avant-garde and futuristic cut, previously explored in editorials, cosplays and catwalks.
Among the artists who opted for this look were Miley Cyrus, Billie Eilish and Lady Gaga. The three singers demonstrated the versatility of this cut by wearing it with sophisticated, grunge and gothic dresses, respectively. This haircut defines the jaw much more by removing volume on the sides, giving you a much more edgy and mature touch.
How can you get this look? The first thing you should do is define the final length of your hair and ask for a bob cut in the first layer whose maximum height is the chin. From there, you are free to choose if you want definition in the bob or if you want to achieve a much more subtle and blurred style with discreet layers.
We are sure that this style will give a lot to talk about in 2025. If you decide to change, send us a story to @thewalk.com.mx.
