In total, 25 rackets, 17 dark blue polos, and 15 light blue polos, worn by the tennis player during his 2023 season, make up one of the lightest watches on the market. “The composite forming the case and bezel of the watch is made from epoxy resin reinforced with quartz powder and crystal veil fused with the recycled rackets and polos,” HUBLOT explained in a statement. “The resulting material is flecked with fragments of light and dark blue fabric and black carbon to create a unique camouflage aesthetic.” Another important aspect addressed in the creation of this titan was the crystal, which, in this case, is Gorilla Glass—a material more commonly known for its use in high-end technology, and notable for being twice as light as sapphire, the raw material usually used in watch design.

The heart of this new Big Bang also beats differently. “We had to reinvent the standard brass Unico movement to reduce the weight of the watch. To do this, Hublot opted for aluminum, prized for its lightness, and anodized it in light blue or gray to match the camouflage color scheme of the case,” the brand shared. “Thus, Hublot's engineers managed to reduce the weight of the movement by 27%, nearly a third.”
