Gucci’s got a new player on the field! As of January 1, Stefano Cantino will officially take over as CEO of Gucci, and boy, does he have his work cut out for him. After a rollercoaster ride under Jean-François Palus, who led the brand through a pretty wild transition, it’s time for fresh leadership—and Cantino is stepping up to the plate.

Cantino’s no rookie. With years of experience at Louis Vuitton and Prada under his belt, this guy knows a thing or two about luxury fashion. He’s been brought on board to help Gucci get back to its glory days, especially after some recent struggles (we’re looking at you, 20% revenue drop in Q2). But fear not—there’s a game plan. New handbag lines, De Sarno’s killer designs, and a faster time to market are all in the works to bring Gucci back to the top.

As we wave goodbye to Palus, who laid the groundwork for this revival, it’s clear that Gucci is ready to shake things up. Stay tuned, because this fashion giant is far from done.
